It is great to have a partner with you who is ready to go on the same journey with you. However, if you choose the wrong partner, it can hurt you in more ways than you can think of. Ido Fishman believes that any person who is ultra-emotional about you should be kept away from your accountability. In other words, they will never hold you accountable when you become derailed from achieving your fitness goals. When you don’t feel like exercising, they will concur and ask you not to exercise. When you can’t achieve your goals, they will say it is fine.

You need a partner who will call a spade a spade. If you are not working out properly, they should point you out. Don’t Set Unrealistic Goals

If you are familiar with the SMART goal setting strategy, then you must know that setting unrealistic goals is only going to hurt you in the long run. The “A” in SMART strategy stands for achievable, which means you have to set goals that you can achieve. At the same time, the last “T” means time i.e. you have to define a timeframe for achieving that goal. If you set unachievable and unrealistic goals, you will lose your motivation too soon. You will feel as though you are not good enough, which is bad not only for your workout routine but mental health as well.
